"HHNK contributes to a rich biodiversity in its management area and a future-proof living environment." This is the core of our vision for biodiversity restoration. The Water Board has traditionally had the task of managing, turning and purifying water. In conjunction with these tasks and responsibilities, we can make an important contribution to preserving, enriching and restoring biodiversity in our management area. The vision describes the possibilities and opportunities regarding biodiversity restoration and our approach.

Also, in December 2020, our board decided to become a partner of the Delta Plan for Biodiversity Restoration. Participation offers us opportunities to share knowledge and experiences on biodiversity restoration and make them available to partners. This allows us as an organization to continue to learn so that we can make the most effective contribution to the conservation, restoration and enrichment of biodiversity in our management area.

Restoring biodiversity is an important issue. Biodiversity has declined sharply in recent decades both globally and in our environment. This is not only at the expense of nature, but it now also affects our economy, food security, health and quality of life. We will contribute where possible to the preservation, enrichment and restoration of biodiversity in our management area.
