Privacy Policy

In carrying out our statutory duties, we process personal data. This includes, for example, personal data that you leave via our digital contact form or because you use our website or services. We also receive your personal data from other agencies. For example, municipalities provide us with personal data from the Basic Registration of Persons that we need for the levying and collection of water board tax.

Your personal data

Personal data is any data that can directly or indirectly lead to a person. Such as your name, address, place of residence, telephone number, e-mail address, year of birth, place of birth, account number or BSN number.

What does HHNK need your personal data for?

Usually HHNK needs your personal data for a legal task or obligation (such as levying and collecting water board tax). Without these data we cannot perform them. Your personal data are also needed to, for example:

  • execute an agreement when buying and selling land
  • checking and monitoring compliance with a granted permit
  • handle questions, complaints or grievances
  • send newsletters
  • customer satisfaction surveys to improve services
  • draw up overviews and carry out studies and forecasts. This can help HHNK formulate and implement its policies and improve our services.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We do not retain personal data collected longer than is strictly necessary or regulated by law for the purpose of processing.

How do we secure your data?

We have taken technical and organizational measures to ensure an appropriate level of security. These measures are set out in our information security policy.

Does HHNK share your data with third parties?

Your personal data will not be shared with third parties (other organizations or individuals). Except when necessary to carry out a law, task or process. If so, we enter into a processor agreement with organizations that process your data for HHNK. In this way we ensure that your data is processed safely and securely.

Child under 16 years of age

If you wish to make a request regarding the personal data of a child under 16, you can only do so by letter at this time.

With your request, you must show that you are the child's legal representative. The legal representative is the person who has authority over a child. You can prove that you are the legal representative by submitting a recent copy of the birth certificate together with a recent extract from the register of custody. If it concerns a child between 14 and 16 years old, you can also prove that you are entitled to act as representative by means of a power of attorney.

Your letter will include at least:

  • Your name, address and phone number;
  • date;
  • description of the right you are invoking;
  • copy of your ID;
  • A recent copy of birth certificate;
  • A recent extract from custody register.

We keep a processing register, which indicates for each processing operation what type of personal data we process, for what purposes and how long we keep the data.

Your rights

If HHNK processes your personal data, you have rights. Those rights are (among others) in the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). You can exercise those rights.

You have the right to:

  • view the data we process about you
  • supplement and/or correct your personal data
  • Have your own personal data deleted
  • have the processing of your personal data reduced (your data will then only be processed with your consent)
  • transfer your personal data (for example, to a municipality)
  • object to the processing of your personal data
  • withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data
  • file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority (the national data protection regulator. Read more information on the website of the Personal Data Authority(External link).

Your safety

We try to prevent someone who has no right to do so:

  • get access to your data
  • can change your data
  • may disclose your information

We do this by, for example:

  • encrypt personal data
  • control access to computer systems
  • give access to computer systems only to persons who are permitted and or have a duty of confidentiality
  • classify documents and e-mails (indicate how stringently they should be protected) and secure them.

These measures fall under the Baseline Information Security Government(External link) (BIO) with which we must comply.

Data protection officer

We have appointed an independent data protection officer (FG). This person advises and monitors us in the processing of personal data. Our data protection officer can be reached by calling 072 5828282.

Good to know:
You cannot request your personal data from the FG, have it amended or deleted.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored when you visit the website. For example, your computer, tablet or smartphone. On this website we use 2 types of cookies:

1. Functional cookies. These are necessary for the website to work properly. For example, these cookies remember your preferences, such as the language in which you want to read the website or the interim saving of an online form.
