About HHNK

We are a public authority a democratically elected board and our own tax system. Our administrative organization is very similar to that of a municipality. The main difference is that we have a limited, functional role. We work on:

  • dikes: we protect residents from flooding;
  • water: we ensure sufficient and clean surface water;
  • roads: we manage and maintain rural roads.

We do that in Hollands Noorderkwartier: North Holland above the North Sea Canal.
