Ditches as landscape elements CAP
2023: Locks HHNK in subsidy application CAP
Farmers participating in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in 2023 could include half the ditch next to their plot in the subsidy application to the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO). In this application, landscape elements could be specified as non-productive acreage. HHNK, as owner of the ditch, granted permission for this, considering that the adjacent owner also maintains the ditch, thus preserving it as a valuable landscape element.
2024: Ditches HHNK outside subsidy application CAP
The government regulation regarding water board ditches as landscape elements was the subject of national discussion. Based on developments, HHNK decided to stop this in 2024. This means that in 2024 ditches owned by HHNK could no longer be declared as landscape elements. This decision was announced through this website on May 17, 2024.
2025: Ditches outside CAP subsidy application, except ditches located adjacent to HHNK leased plots
HHNK has decided that ditches owned by HHNK may not be declared as landscape elements. Exceptions are ditches of HHNK located along property parcels of HHNK that are legally leased. These ditches may be declared as landscape elements by the legal tenant.
Should you receive questions/verification from the RFO about your declaration of ditches as landscape elements for the CAP, please contact the Water Board.
