Sustainable GWW

In the Civil Engineering sector, 60 parties work together on sustainability in water projects, among others.

HHNK follows this so-called 'Sustainable GWW approach' for projects with a contract value from €0.3 million. One of the tools is theCO2 performance ladder.

Regional Energy Strategy (RES).

To meet the Paris climate agreements, the Dutch government has asked 30 regions for proposals for locations to generate renewable energy. This involves a total of 35 Terrawatt hours of electricity. This is comparable to the electricity consumption of 10 million households.

Two of these thirty regions fall within our management area. These are North Holland North and North Holland South.

The energy is going to be generated mainly by solar panels and wind turbines.

HHNK is contributing to this task with over 100,000 solar panels, particularly at treatment sites, and possibly also with wind energy.

Aquathermy (heat from water) will also have a place in the RES in the Regional Heat Structure and the Heat Transition Vision building on it. More information can be found under the heading Aquathermie.
