BlueBloqs rainwater system for smart water management

FieldFactors aims to contribute to climate-proof and sustainable cities, industry, and sports facilities through smart water management with the BlueBloqs rainwater system. The BlueBloqs system combines natural and technological solutions to make water management in urban areas more efficient and sustainable.

The system collects and reuses rainwater. This reduces the amount of water discharged into the sewer system, prevents overflow or flooding, and stores rainwater for reuse at a later time.  An example project is the Sparta neighborhood Spangen in Rotterdam. In addition, Blue Bloqs replenishes the water-bearing layer. This is known as aquifer recharge through the infiltration of rainwater into the soil to restore groundwater reserves.

Drought

Blue Bloqs also improves the climate resilience of urban areas through water buffering and greening. It reduces flooding and drought problems by storing rainwater locally and releasing it gradually. Active groundwater management prevents soils from becoming too wet or too dry, thereby halting soil subsidence and peat oxidation. One example project is Klapwijk, in the municipality of Pijnacker Nootdorp. Finally, innovative biofiltration technology is used to improve water quality. Rainwater is purified before it is stored or reused to comply with legislation and prevent pollution of clean sources.

Data

Over the past year, there has been a shift from municipalities to corporations having to comply with CSRD obligations and reporting requirements. Field Factors' BlueBloqs meets quality and quantity requirements with its online monitoring and measurement techniques and provides relevant data for the auditor's reports.
