Code of Conduct

As a government agency, the water board serves as a role model in society. This entails special responsibilities for its employees. The water board's core values and rules of conduct can be found in the Code of Conduct for Integrity. Each employee is individually responsible for complying with these rules.

Although as an employee of HHNK you will fall under the Civil Code (private law) from 2020 onwards, special rules on integrity will continue to apply to civil servants. These are set out in the Civil Servants Act 2017. The rules cover, for example:

  • taking the oath or pledge;
  • integrity policy;
  • ancillary activities;
  • financial interests;
  • freedom of expression, freedom of association, and confidentiality;
  • the procedure for reporting misconduct.
