Municipality of Den Helder: Oostslootstraat, Molenstraat Noord, Kuiperdwarsstraat and Spoorstraat Oost
In Oostslootstraat, Molenstraat Noord, Kuiperdwarsstraat and Spoorstraat Oost in Den Helder, several climate-adaptive measures are being taken. The existing sewers will be replaced and improved to a separate system. The HWA system will be drained and infiltrated. The road will have a concave profile and a water-storing foundation. Where possible, rainwater will be disconnected and this water will be discharged into the surrounding area. Due to the limited space and the many cables and pipes, space for new trees is limited. But where a tree can be planted, it will be done. This can reduce heat stress. The total cost of this project is €721,850, of which €100,000 is subsidized from the CAN scheme. The project will be completed in mid-2026.
