Municipality of Den Helder: Oostslootstraat, Molenstraat Noord, Kuiperdwarsstraat, and Spoorstraat Oost
Various climate adaptation measures are being implemented in Oostslootstraat, Molenstraat Noord, Kuiperdwarsstraat, and Spoorstraat Oost in Den Helder. The existing sewer system is being replaced and upgraded to a separate system. The stormwater drainage system will be designed for drainage and infiltration. The road will have a concave profile and a water-retaining foundation. Where possible, stormwater will be disconnected and discharged slowly into the surrounding area. Due to the limited space and the many cables and pipes, the space for new trees is limited. However, trees will be planted wherever possible. This will help reduce heat stress. The total cost of this project is €721,850, of which €100,000 is subsidized by the KAN scheme. The project will be completed in mid-2026.
