Municipality of Heemskerk: Blue-green measures Holle Beeck
Blue-green measures are being implemented on Vrijburglaan in Heemskerk. Part of this involves raising and modifying the shape of the weirs. Once the weirs have been modified, more water will be retained, which means that the available water storage capacity can be used during heavy rainfall. The planned adjustable weir will ensure that the water from the Holle Beeck is better distributed across the urban area. The area will also be redesigned to be more natural, providing more shade and allowing for evaporation. The total cost of this project is €504,000, of which €100,000 has been allocated from the KAN scheme. The project will be completed by the end of 2025.
