Municipality of Heemskerk: Water storage Noorddorperbeek
We have granted the municipality of Heemskerk €100,000 subsidy for climate adaptation measures in the Noorddorperbeek water storage project. This is one of six projects, to which HHNK has granted a subsidy from the KAN scheme.
Through this Klimaat Actief Noorderkwartier grant regulation, municipalities can receive subsidies for projects that make the living environment more climate-proof, up to 30% of the project costs. The scheme is intended to accelerate the implementation of these projects. On October 10, 2023 high water board Klazien Hartog symbolically handed over this amount to Alderman Ani Zalinyan of the municipality of Heemskerk.

Alderman Ani Zalinyan: "Partly due to the KAN subsidy, we can construct the water storage along the Noorddorperbeek. Together with HHNK, LTO Noord and PWN, we are constructing a green water storage area to prevent flooding in the horticultural area caused by heavy rainfall. At the same time, we are strengthening nature here and soon visitors will also be able to enjoy this area. A wonderful project!"
Water storage Noorddorperbeek
The Noorddorperbeek water storage will be constructed on the plot behind Rijksstraatweg 203 in the Heemskerkerduin. This green water storage is also of added value for nature, water quality and recreation due to its wetland and green design. The total implementation cost of the project is € 344,907, of which € 100,000 will be granted from the KAN grant. The project will start in January 2024.
