Municipality of Heiloo: Oosterzijweg redevelopment
We granted nearly €58,000 in subsidies to the municipality of Heiloo for the redevelopment of Oosterzijweg. The renovation will improve water infiltration, retention and drainage.
This is one of eight projects to which HHNK has granted a subsidy from the KAN scheme. Through this Klimaat Actief Noorderkwartier subsidy regulation, municipalities can receive up to 30% subsidy of the project costs for projects that make the living environment more climate-proof. The scheme is designed to accelerate the implementation of these projects. On February 15, HHNK board member Klazien Hartog symbolically handed over this amount to Alderman Rob Opdam.
Flood control
Alderman Rob Opdam explains: "The redevelopment of Oosterzijweg contributes to several of the Water Board's themes. Such as the retention, infiltration and storage of water, as well as robust water supply or drainage and the relief of the sewer system. Special to the project is the application of the Wavi-core system, which infiltrates rainwater into the road foundation. This reduces flooding on site during heavy precipitation." The project is expected to begin November 2023 and is estimated to be completed by spring 2024. The total cost of the project is estimated at €192,400 euros. The grant contribution from HHNK is € 57,720.
