Municipality of Zaanstad: Deep infiltration Transvaal neighborhood

In the Transvaal neighborhood in Zaanstad, a drainage transport sewer is being constructed to handle the amount of rainwater from frequent showers. To hold a peak downpour in the area, 900 m³ of storage is needed. This water storage will be under the parking spaces in the subsoil. An infiltration location will also be realized in the deep underground. The total cost of the project is €500,000, of which €100,000 will be subsidized from the KAN scheme. The project will be completed by mid-December 2026.
