GGD: No health risks exposure to dinoterb

The GGD (Zaanstreek-Waterland, Hollands Noorden and Kennermerland) informed us that the exposure of dinoterb, as a result of recreation in surface water with a maximum concentration of 443.8 ng/l does not cause health risks. RIVM has investigated this for the GGD. We have received many questions from concerned residents about the health risks due to exposure to dinoterb in surface water. Since this falls within the GGD's expertise, we asked them to clarify this. The GGD has asked RIVM to perform a risk estimate.

RIVM

RIVM looked at a worst-case scenario: daily swimming in water with the highest dinoterb concentration detected. RIVM concluded that for the exposure scenario assessed (daily exposure via swimming water, oral and dermal), no health risks are expected. For the other scenarios (scuba diving, boating, playing, and garden watering), RIVM also does not expect health risks because exposure for these scenarios will be lower than for daily swimming.
