For the linocut with the theme 'On the dike!', I chose a location in Obdam where you can see differences in height in the polder landscape and windmills. I chose this because I find the differences in height in the landscape characteristic of the Dutch polder landscape. These differences in height also give depth to the final work. The windmills were a nice focal point and are also characteristic of a polder landscape.
