Drug residues
Deliver medicine residues to the pharmacy or environmental center. Never throw medicine residues in the toilet or down the drain. Purifying water from medicine residues is difficult, so some of the residues end up in ditches and groundwater. This damages marine life and biodiversity and makes it extra difficult to keep our drinking water clean.

Water Quality
Drug residues are difficult to purify and harmful to marine life.
Our (drinking) water is safe. Various bodies ensure that the sources of our drinking water are kept clean. They take measures and develop new methods to purify water as well as possible from, for example, medicine residues. More and more hospitals are also purifying their own wastewater for medicine residues before discharging it.
