Water quality reporting center

Clean water is essential for humans, plants, and animals. In addition to pollution caused by humans, climate change threatens the quality of our water. High temperatures and changes in precipitation cause flooding, blue-green algae, botulism, fish mortality, brown tap water, foul odors, and a decline in underwater life. This deterioration in water quality also poses a threat to our drinking water.

We take it for granted that clean water comes out of the tap and costs next to nothing. The Netherlands is one of the world leaders when it comes to clean and tasty drinking water. However, this is not as common as it seems. Not only is water becoming scarcer, but it is also becoming increasingly difficult to turn it into clean drinking water.

It is important that problems with water are reported to the water authority if there is any suspicion that something is wrong. This allows timely action to be taken to prevent or limit damage to the environment, homes and streets, and public health.
