Failed direct debit (storno)
Here's how it works
If it is not possible to debit the monthly amount, the direct debit fails. This is called a storno.
Causes that a direct debit fails:
- Insufficient balance. Direct debits will continue the following month. If the debit fails even then, we will stop the direct debit. You must then arrange for payment of the outstanding assessment amount yourself.
- The money has been debited, but You have withdrawn the installment amount, we will stop the direct debit after one unsuccessful attempt. You must then arrange for payment of the outstanding assessment amount yourself.
- The bank account you are trying to use to collect is closed or blocked. If so, we will stop the direct debit after one failed attempt. You must then arrange for payment of the outstanding assessment amount yourself.
In all cases, you will receive a letter about this.
Don't know why the debit failed? Please check with your bank.
