Takeover urban water maintenance Texel
What will happen?
By signing the agreement of intent to take over urban water, the municipality and the district water board agreed on a schedule. Meanwhile, the various watercourses have been measured by measuring agency MUG so that we can jointly determine which watercourses will be taken over by HHNK. It is expected that the high water board will take over the responsibility for the maintenance of the urban water from the municipality of Texel at the beginning of 2025.
In many municipalities, different parties perform water maintenance. It is unclear to residents which government agency they should go to with questions or complaints about the ditches and maintenance. The district water board and the municipality of Texel together want to create clarity for residents. That is why the municipality is transferring the maintenance of the urban water to the high water board. HHNK maintains all the waters in the rural area.
When will the project take place and how long will it take?
The work is in full swing. The Water Board is expected to be responsible for the maintenance of ditches in the urban area by early 2025.
