Priovention BV

From the Water Innovation Fund, Priovention BV receives funding to make the INDI ready for market. With this product, Priovention offers a sustainable alternative to incontinence materials. Every year, people who rely on it use 1,850 disposable diapers per person. Burning these leads to 200,000 tons of CO2 emissions. With the INDI, the number of diapers needed is reduced to 10 per dependent person per year.

INDI is an intelligent, industrially washable incontinence diaper and can be washed 200 times.

The INDI (Intelligent Diaper) is intelligent. For example, a sensor is integrated that measures the degree of filling of both urine and feces. The client can thus be changed at the right time. The sensor to analyze movement is under development so that pressure sores can be prevented. In the future, pH, heart rate and other vital signs will also be measured. Diseases can thus be detected and treated earlier, such as urinary tract infections. Priovention offers support in the transition to the INDI and provides training that familiarizes caregivers with the INDI and the 'as-a-service' Ecosystem.

Cleaning the INDI involves collecting phosphates from urine to make fertilizer. Feces are used as a breeding ground for bacteria that purify sewage. A special membrane that filters drug residues from the wash water is deployed. Pilot location as of April 2022 is main location RWZI Vallei en Veluwe in Apeldoorn.
