Priovention, Inc.

Priovention BV receives funding from the Water Innovation Fund to bring the INDI to market. With this product, Priovention offers a sustainable alternative to incontinence materials. Every year, people who rely on these materials use 1,850 disposable diapers per person. Incinerating these diapers results in 200,000 tons of CO2 emissions. With the INDI, the number of diapers needed is reduced to 10 per person per year.
INDI is an intelligent, industrially washable incontinence diaper that can be washed 200 times.
The INDI (Intelligent Diaper) is intelligent. It has an integrated sensor that measures the fill level of urine and feces. This allows the client to be changed at the right time. A sensor to analyze movement is currently being developed to prevent pressure ulcers. In the future, pH levels, heart rate, and other vital signs will also be measured. This will enable earlier detection and treatment of diseases, such as urinary tract infections. Priovention offers support during the transition to the INDI and provides training to care providers with the INDI and the "as-a-service" Ecosystem.
When cleaning the INDI, phosphates from urine are collected to make fertilizer. Feces are used as a breeding ground for bacteria that purify sewage water. A special membrane that filters drug residues from the washing water is used. The pilot location as of April 2022 is the main location of the Vallei en Veluwe wastewater treatment plant in Apeldoorn.
