Procedure for land transactions
Land that we no longer need for our water management tasks can be sold or leased. On this page, you will find more information about arranging land use.
Purchase or lease of land from the water board
There are several options for arranging land use with us:
- You purchase the land at a market-based price. This allows you to use the land, expand your property, and increase the value of your plot.
- You rent the land at a market rate. You can still use the land.
When you purchase or lease land, we may impose conditions on its use. These conditions relate to the management and maintenance of ditches, dikes, and roads, for example if a strip of land is located close to a flood defense. The specific conditions depend on the situation.
Rent or buy at market prices
You purchase or lease the plot at market prices. Youwillunderstand that water board land towards Amsterdam has a different value than land towards the Noordkop. The valuation is determined by an independent appraiser for both purchase and lease. We will cover the costs of the valuation. When purchasing, there are 'buyer's costs'. This means that, in addition to the purchase price, you pay the costs of the notary, the land registry, and the transfer tax. When determining the value, we take various factors into account, including the (future) use and destination, and the situation itself.
Request to purchase or lease land
You can submit a request to purchase or lease land in writing or by using thisform:. Your request must include the following information: cadastral data for the plot, an aerial photograph or site plan indicating the desired land, the intended use, and your name, address, and place of residence.
