programme

For the programme , this is the first time that the Water Systems department is working with a framework contract for engineering services in which we request products.

Exciting, but also a challenge to work together to make something beautiful out of it.

Britt, Bob, and Ron have now given all three agencies their first assignments for the "Prescan environment" product for eight projects.

The programme currently involves the following projects:

  • Improvement of the water system in Beverwijk;
  • Inner dune edge project Zanderij;
  • Inner dune edge project: Clean water supply Bakkum;
  • Inner dune edge: Flow chart of engineering structures;
  • Improvement of the De Drieban water system (phase 2);
  • Improvement of outflow at 't Wad pumping station;
  • Improvement of drainage in Egmond aan den Hoef;
  • Improvement/optimization of water storage at Blokdijk.

The experience we have gained so far with these first assignments is that it still takes some getting used to and figuring out what we can and should expect from each other. How do we deal with the product sheet for plot 3, how do we assess the number of point locations, how do we communicate and consult with each other, and what can we expect from each other in terms of quality? All of this means that we still have some way to go in terms of aligning our expectations.

Furthermore, I believe that at this point, we on the client side can be satisfied with the initial (draft) results, and I note that work is also being done on standardization, which will ultimately yield further benefits for both the client and the contractor.

All in all, we have now 'set sail', the first products are being delivered, and I foresee a fruitful collaboration with the agencies in the coming years.
