Renovation of the Jacobus Bouman Pumping Station

What's going to happen?

We are carrying out a technical renovation at the Jacobus Bouman Pumping Station. The pumps are being overhauled and fitted with new drives and electrical control panels. The pumping station’s facade was previously renovated.

The pumping station has two pumps; they are being serviced one at a time to ensure that the area remains drained as much as possible.

During the work, pumping capacity will be temporarily reduced. For this reason, a temporary pumping system will be installed that can be used when water inflow increases. To this end, pipes will be laid between the pumping station and the Beemsterringvaart, across the dike.

Where is the project taking place?

The Jacobus Bouman Pumping Station is located on Oostdijk in Zuidoostbeemster.

When will the project take place and how long will it last?

Work is expected to begin in late June 2026 and continue through the end of 2026. The schedule is subject to the delivery of materials and may change. The work may be delayed.

The temporary pumping system will remain available throughout the implementation period.

What do you notice?

Oostdijk will be closed near the pumping station to allow for the installation of temporary pipelines and work at the pumping station. The closure is expected to remain in effect for the entire duration of the work.

The closure applies only in the vicinity of the pumping station. Homes on Oostdijk will remain accessible, possibly from either side of the closure. Emergency services will always have access to the area.

Who do we work with?

We are working with Bosman Watermanagement and a general contractor.
