programme Schedule: Delay by the Province of North Holland
The original agreement between HHNK and the Province of North Holland was to complete the embankment improvements for all embankments that failed the latest inspection round by the end of 2030. Discussions are now underway with the western provinces and the relevant water boards, and it appears that the water boards will be given a little more time to carry out the embankment improvements. HHNK will likely be granted an additional five years. In anticipation of this, we have extended the VBK 3 programming by several years. This will allow us to carry out the remaining 150 km of projects with a consistent multi-year financial budget. The extension does not mean that we will delay the planning phases. We aim to complete the planning for all projects by 2030 at the latest. This will allow us to carry out the planning work within the framework agreement (the ROK runs through 2030).
