Starting May 1, the HHNK subsidy will be available again through the NH Agriculture Portal
Farmers operating within our management area can once again apply for subsidies through the North Holland Agriculture Portal starting Friday, May 1. The Agriculture Portal helps farmers reduce emissions of nutrients and pesticides, improve soil health, and enhance riverbanks.
Coaching and Grants
The Agriculture Portal provides access to information, advice from coaches, and grants related to preventing soil erosion, sustainable soil management, crop protection products, field and bank management, and ensuring an adequate supply of fresh water. Business coaches are also available to provide advice on farm management.
Collaboration
Through the Agriculture Portal, the Province of North Holland, the Amstel, Gooi, and Vecht Water Boards, and the Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Authority are collaborating with the agricultural sector to promote forward-thinking and water-conscious business practices. Water Board Member Jos Beemsterboer: “This collaboration is unique. We help the agricultural sector manage water to make their land cleaner. That’s good for water quality, for the grasslands, and for crops.” In the portal’s seven-year history, a total of 2,080 advisory consultations have taken place, and farmers have implemented hundreds of measures each year.
