Vision on water safety
In 2019, our board adopted the Vision on Water Safety. This is a follow-up to the Water Safety Policy Document 2012-2017. In terms of content, this document is still perfectly adequate, but social developments meant that a reassessment was required in the form of a broad-based water safety vision. It is not what we do that needs to be changed, but how we do it. Social developments require us to change from reactive to proactive contact, from setting frameworks to being inviting, from preventing risks to exploiting opportunities, and from applying fixed standards to using values. In the spirit of the Omgevingswet , we Omgevingswet into a (more) outward-looking organization. Through five values (Trust, Identification, Stimulation, Connection, and Innovation), we give substance to that development in the vision below.
