Fishing rights and fishing policy

Approximately forty percent of the water is owned by the water board. We issue fishing rights to recreational and commercial fishermen on many of these waters. How this works is described in our fishing policy.
The fisheries policy sets out how the water board relates to fish and fishermen. There is a policy framework and an implementation framework. The fish stock implementation framework specifies the framework for fisheries. It forms the basis for fisheries plans. You can download both documents below. The implementation framework also includes a viewer.
The core of the fisheries policy is that we work together to ensure good water quality and future-proof fishing rights. The Hollands Noorderkwartier Fish Stock Management Committee (VBC-HNK) is an important body in which we make cooperation agreements and exchange information. The cooperation is aimed at sustainable fish stock and fisheries management, taking into account the interests of commercial and recreational fishing.
