Fishing rights and fishing policy

About forty percent of the water is owned by the Water Board. On many of these waters we issue fishing rights to sport and professional fishermen. How this works is described in our fishing policy.

The fish policy states how the Water Board relates to fish and fishermen. There is a policy framework and an elaboration framework. The fish elaboration framework specifies specifically what the framework is for fishing. It is the basis for fish plans. You can download both documents below. A viewer is also included with the development framework.

The core of the fish policy is that we work together for good water quality and future-proof fishing rights. The Hollands Noorderkwartier fish stock management committee (VBC-HNK) is an important body in which we make cooperation agreements and exchange information. The cooperation is aimed at sustainable fish stock and fishery management with an eye for the interests of professional and sport fishing.
