Foreword

It has now been about a year and a half since we began working on the framework contract for engineering services related to the Improvement of Flood Defense Quays (VBK-3) and the Water Challenge (WO-2.0).

Arcadis, IV-Infra/Tauw, and Tetra Tech (Lot 3) are working on both the programme and the programme .

Under the programme , the exploratory and planning phases for a large number of projects were completed during those first 18 months. These projects are now nearly ready to be transferred to the PAO department for implementation. An interim evaluation has also been conducted with the contracting parties to discuss what is going well and what could be improved.

In this second newsletter, we’ll provide you with an update on VBK’s current projects. Reinoud van Oosten (Tetra Tech) will discuss the status of our standard products. Our colleagues Mitchell and Thijs from Geotechniek will discuss (un)drained calculations. You’ll also get a glimpse of our fieldwork, and we’ll introduce the brand-new VBK video.

In this newsletter, we strive to highlight a number of topics within our partnership that are also relevant to other projects outside this framework agreement. By sharing our experiences and learning from one another as we navigate these topics, we hope to inspire each other and help us all move forward. We welcome everyone’s contributions to this newsletter, so here’s a call for submissions:
