My Government message box

Are you signed up for the MijnOverheid message box? If so, you will only receive the assessment digitally. If not, you will receive the assessment by mail. Via MijnOverheid you can decide whether or not you wish to receive the assessment digitally.

What is the message box?

The Berichtenbox is your personal mailbox where you can receive mail from the Tax and Customs Administration, RDW, SVB, UWV and your municipality digitally. Think of messages about your benefits, your child benefit, payment specifications of your unemployment benefit, or the expiration of your driver's license or MOT. If there are new messages for you, you will automatically receive an e-mail. More and more government agencies are joining the Berichtenbox, allowing you to receive more and more mail digitally.

Wherever you are, with the Berichtenbox you always have government mail close at hand. And if you want, you will automatically receive an e-mail when there is mail for you. The message box is clear, secure and always available. You log in easily with your DigiD.

Using message box

To use the Berichtenbox, go to MijnOverheid and follow the instructions. You log in with your DigiD. You can choose which organizations you want to receive messages from via the message box.

Authorize someone

Want to use the message box, but is someone else helping you with your mail? You can give someone permission to read your messages. This is called authorization. You can arrange this via DigiD Machtigen.

Can I read mail from HHNK directly on my mobile or tablet?

Read mail from directly on a mobile or tablet. You can do that with MijnOverheids Berichtenbox app. 

As soon as there is new mail, the app notifies you. Logging in is easy and secure with the DigiD app. 

Immediately informed 

With the launch of the app, access to the Berichtenbox has been simplified. Mail from can be read directly in the app without having to log in to MijnOverheid. It is also possible to forward mail from the app to another email address. 

The Berichtenbox app uses the notification function of cell phones and tablets. The app provides instant notification when new mail is ready in the Berichtenbox. 

Quick access to the app and the notification feature are expected to have a positive effect on the number of messages read.

I prefer to receive mail from HHNK on paper. How do I arrange that?

If you no longer wish to receive digital mail from us in your message box, you must opt out yourself.

You can do this by clicking on the Settings button in the message box and then uncheck the box next to 'Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier' under the category 'Water Boards'.
From then on you will receive our assessments by regular mail again.

What about the message box and My HHNK after death?

Through the municipality, we receive a notice of death. From that moment we no longer send assessments and messages to the deceased's MijnOverheid message box. After some time, Logius, the body responsible for digital government services, blocks the deceased's DigiD. From that moment on, it is no longer possible to use the deceased's MijnOverheid message box and Mijn HHNK.
