Inspecting hydraulic engineering structures

Every year, we test all the hydraulic engineering structures in our area, such as locks, cut-offs, and weirs. We check whether they are still working properly and whether they open and close quickly enough in an emergency. After all, a lock is ultimately also a 'hole in the dike'. In an emergency, it must be possible to close such a hole quickly in order to guarantee water safety.
