Soil testing at five locations in Durgerdam
In October, soil testing will take place at several locations in Durgerdam. It involves soil drilling at five different locations. These drillings will be done by hand and carried out by Wiertsema & Partners. The locations of the hand drillings have been chosen so that no traffic measures are necessary.
Manual drilling involves manually drilling up soil. This soil is placed aside next to the borehole. The driller notes what types of soil are encountered. The borehole is then sealed with clay rods and the ground level is restored. The results of the drilling are used to calculate the erosion resistance of the dike.
What do we ask of residents?
Do you live in Durgerdam? The soil investigation may take place on your plot or the plot you lease, rent or use from the Water Board. It is also possible that we have to go through your land to the research location. If we want to drill on your plot, you will receive a letter by mail. In this letter we ask permission to enter your plot. Then we call a few days in advance to ask permission (again) and to check if there are things we need to take into account. The work is scheduled for mid-October.
