How can I apply?
There are three ways to apply:
- Apply for a guaranteed seat on the LTO Noord (non-agricultural) or the VBNE (nature) board.
- Join an existing political party. Do you identify with the ideas of an existing party? If so, please contact the party in question.
- Run on your own ticket.
There are two ways to submit your own list:
- You must register the name of your list with the Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Board’s election office, Postbus . Postbus , no later than December 21, 2026.
- If you do not register by December 21, 2026, you may still participate with a blank list. In that case, only a number will appear above your list.
What legal requirements must a candidate meet?
To be eligible for appointment as a member of the General Board, candidates must:
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- reside in our service area (North Holland north of the North Sea Canal);
- are not excluded from the right to vote.
The date used to determine residence and age is the date of (possible) admission to the General Board. A candidate under the age of 18 may be placed on the candidate list, but must reach the age of majority during the term of the newly elected General Board. Candidates who live outside our administrative area must submit a statement declaring their intention to establish residence in our area if they are elected to the general board. Dutch citizenship is not a requirement for admission to the general board.
