My idea was to design a dike that could also be fully utilized as a port. Ships arrive in a canal parallel to the dike. Just like in a normal port, there are cranes to unload goods from ships, but goods can also be transported through the dike via a tunnel. These tunnels can be closed if necessary. This allows the Netherlands to maintain its current import and export levels with added protection in the event of flooding.
