For my dike of the future, I had a more symbolic than functional idea. I filled my dike with plastic bottles, hoping to make people think about the plastic soup. I chose to place a park next to the dike, so the dike also directly affects people and makes them throw their plastic trash in the trash. It is also symbolic because the plastic dike forms a transition from the park to the water: it shows how plastic not thrown in the trash in parks, for example, always ends up in the ocean.
