For my dike of the future, I had an idea that was more symbolic than functional. I filled my dike with plastic bottles, hoping that people would think about the plastic soup. I chose to place a small park next to the dike, so that the dike would also have a direct influence on people and encourage them to throw their plastic waste in the trash. It is also symbolic because the plastic dike forms a transition from the park to the water: it shows how plastic that is not thrown in the trash in parks, for example, always ends up in the ocean.
