A few months ago, my class was given the assignment to create a work of art with the theme Ode to the Landscapefor the Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Board. Immediately after hearing this, I set off for Schermerhorn with a friend who studies photography. We started taking photos early in the morning when the sun was low and there was a layer of fog over the water. I knew immediately that this represented my image of the Netherlands. Although we are known for rain and gray days in the Netherlands, there are also many moments like this. I had a lot of fun painting with so much color, and I hope the viewer experiences the same thing.
