Call for pilot foundation study
The City of Amsterdam is working with the core team on the pilot project around foundations. The project has now reached the point where the first foundation surveys are being prepared. The municipality's team wants to investigate the foundations of five homes and is calling on interested parties to sign up. Good to know: a meeting will also be organized for those who register for more information about the pilot and the foundations. An invitation will follow.
Which properties are eligible for the pilot?
The pilot is intended for homes on Durgerdammerdijk with one or more of the following characteristics:
- Your house sinks more than 4 mm per year;
- There are serious cracks in your home;
- Your home is crooked.
Do you recognize one or more of these characteristics and would like to know more about the (condition of) the foundation of your home? Then let us know if you are interested in this pilot. Participation is free of charge.
What does the foundation study involve?
It involves a hull survey of the house. This involves interior and exterior measurements of floors and facades. Structural defects are also Map . This is followed by a foundation survey on the outside of the building walls. A pit is dug to view part of the foundation and subsoil. All work is closely coordinated with the owners/occupants of the affected property.
What happens after the examination?
The results are summarized in a report, including a structural recommendation. Depending on the condition of the foundation, the municipality recommends foundation repair. In case of unsafe situations, the municipality and the homeowners make agreements to carry out foundation repair within a certain period of time.
