After a death there is a lot on your mind. You have a lot to arrange, including the water taxes from HHNK. We are happy to help.

When a death occurs, the municipality notifies us. You do not have to notify us yourself. However, you can indicate to which address we can send the mail. The Berichtenbox and Mijn HHNK cannot be used after your death.

How will tax assessments be affected?

We reduce the treatment levy or the pollution levy. You will receive a letter about this;
We do not reduce the water system levy and the road levy. This is provided for by law;
Tax assessments are not waived upon death. Once you accept the inheritance, you are also responsible for paying the amount due.

Frequently asked question

We want to receive the assessment in the name of someone other than "the heirs of," is that possible?

Yes, if there are multiple owners, a request can be made by the co-owner. If there is one owner, the assessment can be imposed on one of the heirs, we would like to receive a request and the certificate of inheritance. The name change then applies from the following tax year.
