Cooperation with municipalities

We cooperate with a number of municipalities for the waiver. As a result, your request for relief for the current tax year is valid for both municipal and water board taxes. You only have to apply for relief from one authority.

Here's how it works

We work together with the municipalities of Amsterdam, Drechterland, Edam-Volendam, Enkhuizen, Heemskerk, Hollands Kroon, Hoorn, Koggenland, Medemblik, Opmeer, Purmerend, Schagen, Stede Broec, Texel, Waterland and Zaanstad.

The State Water Board and the municipality make separate decisions on the waiver request. The water board's waiver policy may differ from that of your municipality. Therefore, the district water board may reject your request for remission and the municipality may grant it, or vice versa. The district water board does not have to adopt the municipality's decision and vice versa.

When you apply for a waiver, you authorize the Water Board to provide the municipality with any information necessary to process your request for a waiver.
