Subsidy scheme for polder mills in the Hollands Noorderkwartier region
With the Hollands Noorderkwartier Polder Windmill Subsidy Scheme, we support owners of polder windmills in our management area with an annual contribution for activities aimed at maintaining polder windmills.
Terms and Conditions
- The application complies with the provisions of ourGeneral Subsidy Regulation HHNK 2023and theSubsidy Scheme for Polder Mills in Hollands Noorderkwartier.
- Subsidies may only be granted for activities aimed at maintaining polder mills located within the management area of the water board and listed in Annex I to the subsidy scheme.
- The subsidy amounts to a maximum of 50% of the eligible costs, with a maximum of €1,000 per windmill per calendar year.
- Thesubsidy ceilingfor 2026 has beensetat €53,000.
- The subsidy for the calendar year 2026 can be applied for until February 15, 2026, at the latest.

The fastest way to submit your subsidy request is using this online form.
Please include the following with your subsidy application:
- a budget and a coverage plan for the maintenance costs of the polder mill(s).
The coverage plan contains a list of subsidies or reimbursements requested from others for the same activities, stating the current status thereof. - if necessary, a de minimis declaration (only for companies).

After your submission
We will send you a confirmation of receipt and process your request. If necessary, we will ask you for additional information. Once the request is complete, you will receive a letter with our decision within eight weeks. Of course, we will do our best to process your request as quickly as possible.
