Subsidy scheme 'Story of Hollands Noorderkwartier'

With the 'Verhaal van Hollands Noorderkwartier' subsidy scheme, we support projects and activities focused on education, (cultural) history, or water heritage related to our water tasks in the past, present, or future. We also support activities that contribute to our brand awareness or the awareness of our tasks. These include events, exhibitions, publications, etc. 

This subsidy scheme is not intended to contribute to, for example, the construction of a green roof or other measures aimed at climate adaptation. Nor is the subsidy intended for activities aimed at the maintenance or restoration of windmills and other water heritage.

Terms and Conditions

• The application complies with the provisions of our General Subsidy Regulation HHNK 2023 and the Subsidy Scheme 'Verhaal van Hollands Noorderkwartier' (Story of Hollands Noorderkwartier).
• The application fits within the objective of the subsidy scheme. If it concerns an activity of a cultural-historical nature, it is in line with the principles set out in the established Vision on Water Heritage.
• The application is directly related to the management area of the water board.
• The subsidy amounts to a maximum of 50% of the eligible costs.
• The following costs are not eligible for subsidy:
  • salaries, unless they are directly related to the realization of the activity to be subsidized;
  • costs incurred by the grant recipient in submitting the application;
  • maintenance costs;
  • the residual value, if any, of equipment purchased specifically for the eligible activities.
• The subsidy may be refused if the activities for which the subsidy is requested have commenced before the application has been received.
• For 2026, the subsidy ceiling has been set at €20,000.

• A breakdown of the costs and cost coverage.

• If necessary, attach a de minimis declaration (only for companies).

After your submission

We will send you a confirmation of receipt and process your request. If necessary, we will ask you for additional information. Once your request is complete, you will receive a letter with our decision within eight weeks. We will, of course, do our best to process your request as quickly as possible.
