Sup it Up and Trashwalk for clean water
In this educational module, students get to work outside on the theme of Clean & Healthy Water. They learn about the work of the Water Board and, by providing knowledge and action perspectives, take the first step towards a more sustainable water world.
The module starts with a guest lesson on the work of the water board and the pollution of water in lakes and ditches by plastic and litter in the Netherlands and elsewhere in the world. Then the students go on a land or water expedition; Sup it Up or trashwalk.
Want to learn more? Then The Booty is another deepening option!
Sup it Up

Equipped with bin, peg, scoop net or glove, students get on a sup board. While supping, they remove all the litter they come across from the water. Even novice suppers can do this and we always start on the dock with an explanation of tips & tricks.
Sup it UP tackles litter literally and figuratively. Upon return, we separate the trash so that as much as possible can be recycled.
Everyone participating in this module must possess an A swimming certificate.
Trashwalk

In groups, students armed with Balinese bamboo or wooden pegs go through the neighborhood, into the park or onto the beach to pick up all the litter they come across. This way we set a good example, create awareness and of course we also clean up. Win win thus. Upon return, we separate the waste so that as much as possible can be recycled.
The Booty

Back from the Sup it Up or Trashwalk and there it is .... The loot!
We do a brief analysis of the waste collected. Is it waste or raw material? What do we do with it? What do we do about it? This plastic soup...what exactly is it? What impact does our daily behavior have?
Questions abound. And based on our answers, we look at where our opportunities for improvement lie. Positivity! Every change is one. Which one will you take on?
