Relocation, change of address

Have you moved or are you going to move? The municipality automatically notifies us of your move. Whether we reduce your assessment depends on your situation.

What happens to your assessment after a move?

If you continue to live within our area, your move makes no difference to the amount of the assessment.

Are you registered at your new address and meet one of the following Requirements? Then you will receive (automatically) a reduction of the sewage or pollution tax:

  • If you have moved outside the area of HHNK;
  • If you have moved in with someone who already receives a water tax assessment;
  • If you have become a single resident.

Water system levy and road levy are not reduced. This is stipulated by law.

Money will still be deducted from your account after your move.

We reduce treatment charges in the following situations:

  • if you have moved outside the area of HHNK (check here which water board your address falls under);
  • If you have moved in with someone who already receives a water tax assessment;
  • If death occurs;
  • If you have become a single resident.

If you use direct debit, the monthly installments continue as usual. We do not refund the reduction amount, but set it off against the monthly installment amount. The instalment amount will then be lower.

If you no longer wish to use direct debit, you must withdraw the authorization. Note! You must then pay the outstanding assessment amount at once.

Sale of property

The ownership situation on January 1 is decisive. If you were still an owner at that time, you will receive the assessment. The notary settles the water system levy owners and the road levy owners between buyer and seller outside of HHNK. You can check this on the notary's settlement invoice.

Are you an entrepreneur?

If your business moves or the correspondence address changes, you must provide us with a change of address.

We want to receive the assessment in someone else's name, is that possible?

Yes, you can submit a request for the next tax year. Whether we make the name change depends on the following Requirements:

  1. When it comes to user fees: the co-user must be registered at the address on January 1 of the year.
  2. When it comes to owner charges: the co-owner must be registered as owner in the Land Registry on January 1 of the year.
  3. Both the person currently receiving the assessment and the newly proposed taxpayer must sign the request.
  4. If there is a combined assessment (charges for use and for property on one assessment bill), it cannot be split. The newly proposed taxpayer must be a taxpayer for all levies listed on the assessment notice.
  5. The name change should not prevent the assessment from being collected.

Send your request, signed by you and your co-resident or co-owner, to belastingen@hhnk.nl (you can scan or take a picture of your request), or by mail to:

I have become a single resident. Should I apply for reduction of assessment?

No, this is not necessary. If the Basic Registration of Personal DataBRP) shows that you have come to live alone, we will reduce the sewage treatment levy or pollution levy living space. You will receive a letter about this. We do not reduce the water system levy and the road levy. This is determined by law.
