For my linocut, I chose a tranquil waterway near the Lely pumping station in Medemblik. The work shows a boat at a jetty, surrounded by tall reeds, with a windmill in the distance. For me, the flowing water symbolizes how life always goes on. Just as the water is constantly in motion, my life also moves on, to a new phase with a new study and new people. The boat at the jetty symbolizes the moment of embarking on a new adventure, while the dikes provide stability and safety, just as they do for our country. In creating this linocut, I tried to capture the tranquility, vastness, and freedom of this place.
