Wajong benefit?

Those who only receive Wajong benefits as income in 2026 will no longer always receive (full) remission.

However, you may not have to pay the tax assessment in some cases.

What should you do?

You can submit a request for remission via theRequest remission page.

Have you already received a letter stating that you will not receive immediate remission? The letter explains what you need to do to apply for remission.

If the letter includes a form, please complete it and send it in with all the requested documents. If you no longer have the form, you can request it via thenotification format or by calling 0900-9112112.

If remission based solely on your income (Wajong benefit) is not possible, you will still not have to pay the tax assessment. You will receive a letter from us about this.

Please note! If there are other reasons why you are not entitled to remission, you will still have to pay the tax assessment, for example if you have (too much) savings. This usually also applies if there are other people living at your address who receive Wajong benefits or if there is other income in addition to the Wajong benefits.
