SusPhos

From the Water Innovation Fund, SusPhos receives funding in the context of phosphate recovery from wastewater. Specifically, the funding is for further development of the patented technology, engineering of the first full scale plant and strengthening of the SusPhos team. In addition to the Water Innovation Fund, the Investment and Development Company for the Northern Netherlands (NOM), Rabobank and Shift-Invest are part of the financing consortium.
SusPhos specializes in recycling phosphate and other compounds mainly from wastewater treatment. SusPhos has a pilot plant at the Leeuwarden wastewater treatment plant and works together with suppliers and customers to jointly test the various starting materials and tailor products to market needs. CEO Marissa de Boer: "With this pilot plant, we are showing that phosphate recovery has a lot of potential. The financing from the consortium enables us to build the first full scale plant, after which many will follow."
