Contract amendment separate wastewater streams
Due to a nationwide change in the tax system of the water boards, the purification task and basis for the purification levy will change as of January 1, 2026, for "separate wastewater streams." From this date onwards, the water board will no longer have a legal purification task for wastewater that is not collected via a municipal sewer system.
In concrete terms, this means that, according to the applicable regulation, no purification levy may be collected anymore. The Market and Government Act (Wmo) stipulates that at least the full cost price plus VAT must be charged for the purification of 'separate waste water'.
On Thursday, October 9, and Thursday, October 16, the water board will hold an information meeting between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to inform the companies concerned about the consequences of the legislative change. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions during the online meeting. The meeting is only for companies that have received a letter or email.
