New Generation Construction Materials (NGCM).

From the Water Innovation Fund, NGCM will receive funding to further roll out their environmentally friendly and circular coating for concrete structures called Delft Green Curing.
Environmental benefits
NGCM has the worldwide license to sell the special aftertreatment that uses natural products such as water, alginate and betonite to protect concrete from drying out. The environmental advantage over traditional treatment methods - chemical post-treatment and temporary covering with plastic - is enormous. No toxins enter the (water) environment, no plastic waste and the product is harmless to humans and the environment. In addition, the shelf life of the concrete also increases by more than 50%. The product was developed at TU Delft and is marketed under the name Delft Green Curing.
Water Quality
This method of treatment is important for HHNK because the chemicals used often end up in surface water and are bad for water quality. In addition, HHNK itself also needs a lot of concrete for viaducts, flood defenses and the like. All the more reason for HHNK and the National Green Fund to help Delft Green take the concrete market a step further. The size of this market is about 18 millionm2 of concrete annually.
