Climate change means we are experiencing more frequent extreme rainfall. Large amounts of precipitation accumulate in ditches, canals, and waterways in a short period of time. This increases the risk of flooding. We are designing a robust and climate-proof water system. We are taking measures to prevent flooding so that we can continue to drain rainwater effectively in the future. We are also looking at where it is possible to retain water for longer. Responding to climate change requires a redesign of the living environment. To this end, we are working together with the province, municipalities, agricultural organizations, nature organizations, recreation boards, residents, and farmers.
