Romie Strooper
One of the things that comes to mind when I want to show a piece of the Netherlands is the boat trips I used to take with my uncle and aunt. Peacefully sailing through the Eilandspolder, for example, and appreciating the beauty of the Dutch landscape. Many different animals and plants can be found in the landscape. One of the plants that reminds me of these boat trips is the swan flower, because my aunt loved this flower so much and we always looked for it while sailing. That is also the reason why I painted it, because this plant reminds me of an experience that is typically Dutch to me.
