Romie Strooper
One of the things I think of when I want to show a piece of the Netherlands are the boating trips I used to take with my aunt and uncle. Quiet boating through the Eilandspolder, for example, and appreciating the beauty of the Dutch landscape. Many different animals and plants can be found in the landscape. One of the plants that reminds me of these boating outings is the swan flower, because my aunt liked the flower of this so much and we always looked for it while boating. So that is also the reason why I painted it, because this plant reminds me of an experience that for me is typically Dutch.
