Payment in instalments via direct debit

Would you like to pay your water authority tax assessment in instalments? You can do this with an authorisation for direct debit. We will then collect the assessment in a maximum of 10 instalments. This is convenient; you always pay on time without having to worry about it.

Apply for direct debit online

You give the water board authorisation to debit the assessment amount from your account in monthly instalments. This authorisation continues until you cancel it yourself or the debit fails. The minimum amount to be debited per month is € 10 and we will debit the instalments around the 28th of each month.

Applications

You can only request direct debit after you have received the tax assessment digitally or by mail.

If you no longer wish to use this payment method, you can revoke the authorisation.

Change account number

Only one IBAN can be used for direct debit. If you change your account number, this change will apply to all your authorisations granted to the Tax and Customs Administration. It is not possible, for example, to have the purification levy debited from an IBAN other than the one from which the water board tax assessment is debited.

Frequently asked questions

How can I see how much I still have to pay? And can I pay it all at once?

You can see how much you still owe in My HHNK.

Would you like to pay the amount you still owe in one go? You can do this easily with iDeal.

Have you paid everything? Then HHNK will no longer debit any money from your account. You don't need to do anything.

I am unable to enter or change my IBAN account number in My HHNK.

There are a number of things you need to bear in mind when entering or changing your bank account number.

  • Use capital letters.
  • Do not use hyphens or other characters. For example: NL20NWAB0636758680.

Can I pay the tax bill with iDEAL if I have a direct debit?

You can pay the tax bill online via your own bank. Once we have received and processed your online payment, direct debit payments for this tax bill will be stopped.

The authorisation remains valid. Future assessments will therefore again be collected in instalments.

I have sold my house, but you are still debiting money from my account.

If you sell your house during the year, this will not affect the water system levy or the road tax. The situation on January 1 determines the entire year. This year, you will therefore pay for the property you owned on January 1.

However, the tax amount is usually settled by the notary with the buyer. The buyer pays a proportionate share. You can find this on the settlement statement you receive at the time of transfer. You then pay the total tax amount to us.

If you use direct debit, the monthly payments will usually continue into the following year. This is because we only impose the tax assessment during the course of the year and we want to give you time to pay the amount.

If you no longer wish to use direct debit, you must withdraw your authorisation. You can easily do this via mijnhhnk.nl. You will then need to transfer the remaining amount in one go.
