Surface water, storage areas and structures
We ensure sufficient and clean water in ditches and lakes. To achieve that goal, we set requirements for the maintenance of the waters and the space around them. It is important that the waters remain, are the right size and are maintained.
What is the Waters Register map ?
The Register map Waters consists of an online Map and rules (a descriptive part). The Map describes for each surface water body, storage area and supporting structures the minimum dimensions at which they must be maintained and who is responsible. Click on symbols and the lines in the ditch to see all the data. The descriptive part describes what is expected in terms of maintenance. It also contains an explanation.
Register map Waters 2025
The draft decision will be available for inspection until November 16, 2025 . Interested parties will receive a letter in early October if there is a change in the maintenance obligation. You can submit a view, please mention Register map Waters 2025 and HHNK/24002204. Adoption is scheduled for the end of November 2025.
Register map Waters 2024
When will you have to deal with the register map ?
If you have been designated in the register map as the maintainer of a surface water body, storage area or structure. You may then be written to during the annual inspection because maintenance has not been carried out.
And if you plan to perform work in or along a surface water body, storage area or structure, you need a water permit from us.
