Legger Waters
Surface water, storage areas and structures
We ensure sufficient and clean water in ditches and lakes. To achieve that goal, we set requirements for the maintenance of the waters and the space around them. It is important that the waters remain, are the right size and are maintained.
What is the Legger Waters?
The legger is inseparable from the Water Board Ordinance and the Maintenance Ordinance. These contain our rules and where these rules apply (areas of operation). The legger forms the basis for these areas of operation. The legger consists of an online Map and a descriptive part. The Map describes for each surface water body, storage area and associated engineering structures, the minimum dimensions that must be maintained and who is responsible. Click on symbols and lines in the ditch to see all the data.

When will you have to deal with the legger?
If you are designated in the legger as the maintainer of a surface water body, storage area or structure. It is then possible that you will be notified during the annual inspection because maintenance has not been carried out.
And if you plan to perform work in or along a surface water body, storage area or structure, you need a water permit from us.
